Set of Sound figures plates

This is a set of 4 handbuilt and painted stoneware plates.

The pattern shows the traces of sand on a metal plate, which arise when the plate is touched to make a specific tone. This 'sound figures' are the outcome of an experiment Ernst Chladni's in 1787.

The size is approximately diameter 18cm
